Abstract

ABSTRACTWe report on wavelength‐resolved measurements of gain recovery in an erbium‐doped fiber amplifier using a wavelength‐selectable distributed feedback (DFB) laser as a light source. Recovery profiles of the gain are obtained for a wavelength range from 1528 to 1559 nm by applying a single‐wavelength pump‐probe method. Although the recovery time slightly decreases as the wavelength increases, it is nearly constant over the measured wavelength range. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
