Abstract

The optically induced index change in doped LiNbO3 has been investigated by a holographic technique with several laser lines between 458 nm and 528 nm.The Czochralski-pulled single crystals melt doped with iron, copper and manganese show remarkable differences concerning the writing sensitivity and the shape of the photorefractive spectra. By suitable annealing procedures the charge states of the impurity center can be changed resulting in specific variation of the photorefractive behaviour.
