Abstract

The isolated cochlea preparation in combination with the optical sectioning microscope and heterodyne interferometer makes it possible to measure vibrations of cells forming the reticular lamina. This technique allows the measurement of waveform and spectrum at the single cell level, therefore it is well suited for the detection and analysis of nonlinear responses
