Abstract

In this communication we have studied the characteristics of an electromagnetic wave propagating in a semiconductor plasma of single mobile electron carrier. The interaction of an electromagnetic wave with such a material can be completely described by Maxwell's equations and the equation of motion. The complexities of such an analysis require the linearization of the equations by using small signal approximations. A dispersion relation is derived including the effect of drift and diffusion in a collision dominant situation.
