Abstract

A discussion is given of the problems of realizing wave-driven self-circulation of a gas mixture through the discharge chamber of a pulse-periodic CO2 laser. Details of an apparatus are given and preliminary experimental results are reported. The characteristic features of a gas discharge in a wave-driven self-circulation regime are indicated. The flow velocity in the discharge was ~10 m/sec.
