Abstract

This article focuses on modular, wave-based, discrete-time modeling of the resonator oscillations. The main advantage of using a wave-based approach is that it explicitly simulates the way in which waves build up in a real instrument and therefore inherently yields a spatial representation. The wave-based approach also happens to be computationally efficient, mainly due to the fact that lossless traveling of waves in 1-D waveguides can be implemented with very few arithmetic operations
