Abstract
Methods have been developed for obtaining water-soluble cholesterol and sitosterol derivatives which consist in the reaction of the sterol chloroformate with dimethyl aspartate followed by saponification or in the reaction of the sterol with anhydroacetylcitric acid chloride and hydrolysis.
