Click to increase image sizeClick to decrease image size Notes on contributorNick Fredman is currently a Research Fellow at the LH Martin Institute at The University of Melbourne where he researches vocational and higher education. His work on the social and political bases of Greens parties derives from his PhD thesis on national identity and the Australian left, and from a long-time involvement and interest in left and green politics. From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of one of the locality-based parties that were precursors to the Australian Greens, he has been a frequent contributor to Green Left Weekly since 1991, and he is currently active in the National Tertiary Education Union and the Socialist Alliance.
