Abstract

Water-soluble polymers were synthesized by reaction of chloromethylated polystyrene of various MM with the pyridinecarboxylic acid derivatives nicotinamide and isonicotinic acid hydrazide. Amination in DMSO, DMF, and in dioxane was studied. The optimum conditions for synthesis were found, and the thermodynamic and kinetic parameters of the reaction were calculated.
