Abstract
ABSTRACT Adigital simulation was utilized to develop application-depth distributions for the area adjacent to the starting position of a traveler irrigation system. The impact of an initial stationary set on application depths is presented. The effect of other variables such as sprinkler wetting arc and lane width are discussed as they affect water application depth. Volumes of water applied outside the field boundaries and in excess of design depths are characterized.
