Their body temperatures are the same as the air and water around them within a few degrees. They need their body temperature to be in the correct range for their biological processes like respiration, digestion, metabolism, and resistance to disease to work properly. It is a report of a terrible accident that led to the deaths of 3 turtles in 90-93 oC hot water
