Abstract

A national study of wages and vacancies for nine positions in medical laboratories in July through September 1988 has been completed. The results of this study will provide information to assist laboratory managers in evaluatingpay scales and to identify positions where there is a shortage of laboratory personnel. This is part I of a two-part article reporting the results of this survey. Part I presents the survey information on wages. Part II, which will describe the survey's vacancy data, will appear in the June issue of Laboratory Medicine.
