Abstract

This paper presents the design of a planar series-fed linear antenna array for w band with grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW) feeding network. The Taylor distribution is employed as the excitation amplitude coefficients of each patch, which can allow the antenna array to achieve lower side lobe level (SLL).The antenna array is designed, fabricated, and its performance evaluated. Simulation results show that a 8-element series-fed antenna array can achieve the SLL of -18.5dB and antenna gain of 14.0 dBi. The measured results show that the impedance bandwidth below -10dB is around 5GHz (|Sl1|$\leq$-10dB at 92-97 GHz).
