Abstract

A millimeter wave microstrip array antenna for 5G system is designed. The multi-layer PCB structure is proposed, and the radiation patches and the grounded coplanar waveguide (GCPW) feed networks are placed on two sides of the PCB. They are connected with each other using the metalized via. The array antenna is simulated and optimized by HFSS. The simulation result shows that the impedance bandwidth (|S 11 |<−10dB) of the antenna array is about 2GHz at Ka band and the gain reaches 20dB.
