Abstract

Informal settlements show various situations of vulnerability, associated with problems at multiple levels. This research aims to develop a methodology for measuring urban vulnerability in informal settlements in Tierra del Fuego cities, in order to recognize the comprehensiveness of the problems associated with living conditions there, from a right to the city perspective. To do this, an Urban Vulnerability Index is designed, taking into account specific dimensions and indicators of the context, agreed with actors from the State, academia and civil society. The application in a study case (Rio Grande) allows identifying situations of vulnerability with different degrees and characteristics, leading to the definition and prioritization of interventions.
