Abstract
AbstractA temperature/pH dual‐sensitive hydrogel was prepared through simple solution radical polymerization. A novel temperature/pH dual‐sensitive terpolymerized semi‐interpenetrating network, P(NIPAAm‐co‐AA‐co‐HEAA)/SA hydrogel, was synthesized using interpenetrating network technology (IPN) with sodium alginate (SA) as the raw material. The temperature‐sensitive monomer N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm), the pH‐sensitive monomer acrylic acid (AA), and the hydrophilic monomer N‐hydroxyethylacrylamide (HEAA) were incorporated into the structure. The structure and morphology of the hydrogels were investigated using FTIR, TGA and SEM. Additionally, the swelling properties, as well as temperature and pH sensitivity, were examined. The results showed that the content of HEAA and SA influenced the swelling properties of the gels. The gels exhibited distinct swelling behaviors at different temperatures and pH levels, demonstrating remarkable temperature and pH sensitivity. Moreover, it shows rapid response speed and efficient recovery, making them suitable for use as anticancer drug carriers that meet specific requirements.
