Abstract

Previous attmpts to differentiate political groups on the basis of Rokeach's two-value model have been only partly successful. The purpose of this study. therefore. was to test the model using Braithwaite's instrument. Respondents were a community sample of 256 adult Australians. As predicted, results indicated that supporters of the four main political groups could be differentiated in terms of respondents' endorsement of the Value dimensions international harmony and equality, and national strength and order.
