Abstract
The behavior of MHD laminar flow was analyzed with reference to an electromagnetic pumping device, when a vortex is created artificially inside liquid metal. The analysis was carried out using a two-dimensional Finite Difference method on the symmetry plane. The model shows that the presence of an external magnetic field causes flow stabilization : the greater the magnetic field, the faster the damping of the disturbance.
