Abstract

The job enrichment programs undertaken by Volvo in two of its plants in Sweden are described. Job rotation, use of work teams, assembly line job enlargement and construction of new facilities to enhance these methods of work organization have achieved increased job satisfaction and have potential for use in American industry.
