Abstract

Nonprofits across the United States have seen big drops in volunteer support since the coronavirus pandemic began, according to new research from Fidelity Charitable, the nation's largest grantmaker thanks to its role as administrator of Fidelity's donor‐advised fund. All told, some two‐thirds of volunteers surveyed by Fidelity decreased or stopped contributing their time altogether due to the pandemic—leaving a major gap in available support for nonprofits at a time when demand for many of their services has risen substantially.
