Abstract
This chapter introduces and defines the concept of volunteer management. Historical models of volunteer management are described, culminating in an indepth description of the only model of contemporary volunteer management based on empirical data collected from actual volunteer managers, the PEP Model of Volunteer Administration: (Personal) Preparation, (Volunteer) Engagement, and (Program) Perpetuation.
