Abstract

Potential advantages of volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) as compared with standard IMRT have been reported in the treatment of prostate cancer. Decreased monitor units and enhanced visceral wall sparing have been described, but the clinical relevance of these findings has not been established. The purpose of this study is to report our institutional incidence of acute radiation toxicity for these two modalities in the treatment of early prostate cancer.
