Abstract

This paper addresses the subject matter of harmonic analysis in MV and HV distribution networks. EDP has been developing harmonic analysis models for simulation of voltage distortion for different topologies in different load and reactive compensation conditions. The corresponding tools will help planners and operators guarantee voltage quality to the maximum number of clients. This paper discusses modeling issues such as the algorithms used and the representation of non-linear loads, lines and transformers. The problem of identification of potential polluters and their representation is also discussed. Procedures to prevent high voltage distortion are presented based on the identification of potential resonance conditions in most probable network configurations.
