Abstract

The research on the typical coordination schemes of HV and MV distribution network structures has important theoretical and practical significance. For the purpose of practical planning application, the thinking line of using a simple method for solving a large-scale and complex problem is used in this paper, resulting in the selection of typical strong/simple/weak coordination schemes. Based on the inspiration of advanced power networks in Paris, the types and characteristics of network structures are made clear. The strength, simplicity and weakness of HV and MV distribution networks are respectively defined relatively clearly. A safety, reliability and economy evaluation based scheme selection model is established for HV and MV coordination planning. The calculation and analysis of safety, reliability and economy for typical coordination schemes show that a strong MV distribution network is the necessary condition to realize a safe, reliable and economic distribution network and is the sufficient condition to realize a safe and reliable HV and MV distribution network, and thus is the key to solve many problems of a distribution network. However, when a MV distribution network is difficult to be strong, the corresponding HV distribution network should not be weak, and thus the coordination schemes of strength/simplicity-simplicity/weakness are recommended, which will change to a coordination scheme of simplicity/weakness-strength after the corresponding MV distribution network becomes strong .
