Abstract

This paper presents a novel method using the Prony spectral line method for the estimation of voltage and current phasors that is particularly suited to asynchronous operation and signals with a high level of noise or harmonic content. This then provides an estimation of the voltage and current phasors which is robust enough for use in power systems with weak generation or in the presence of power electronic devices such as power converters.
