Abstract

The continuous development of the power systems imposes severe requirements to the actual digital protective relays, due to the fact that their functions rely on the voltage and current phasors. In the paper there are mentioned several phasor estimation techniques and their output results when they are employed to estimate the voltage and current phasors from both simulated and real field data. The simulated data was obtained from the equivalent two-machine grid transposed in Matlab while the real field data was downloaded from real digital relays. The voltage and current phasor estimation output results are provided for the steady state regime as well as for the fault regime.
