Abstract

The presence of faculty of color (FOC) provides critical role modeling and mentorship for diverse students and thereby contributes to increasing diversity in the nursing workforce. Personal reflections of FOC within a predominantly White institution involved feelings of isolation, not belonging, and lacking support and mentorship. Addressing negative experiences of FOC supports retention and advances diversity, equity, and inclusion.
