Abstract
Although vaginal surgery is on the decline in Canada, vNOTES is increasingly becoming mainstream worldwide due to its numerous reported benefits over conventional laparoscopy such as decreased pain, length of stay, and improved cosmesis. We demonstrate a technique for vNOTES hysterectomy and adnexectomy/vault suspension using 2 methods of achieving pneumoperitoneum. At a single tertiary-care academic centre, we illustrate vNOTES using a glove or a specially-designed GelPOINT® (Applied Medical, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, USA) access platform, to perform vaginal hysterectomy, adnexectomy, and uterosacral ligament suspension.
