Abstract

Due to the robust growth of the economy, production, and business activities have been developing vigorously, resulting in an increase in the domestic population’s demand for goods trade, which necessitates the diversification of types, means, and transportation methods. As a result, with numerous current businesses offering services, people have a lot of options regarding intercity transport that is of high quality and meets the market demands. This study determines and identifies the primary factors that influence the mode of transport chosen by residents of Ho Chi Minh City when transporting goods between provinces and then analyzes and evaluates the significance of each factor in order to determine the most influential factors on people’s decisions to select an intercity goods transport mode. Next, the authors would make recommendations on how to create the most favorable conditions that can be applied to existing modes of transportation for firms so as to enhance the current transportation modes, thus attracting people’s attention and simultaneously modifying consumption behavior and converting demand into a choice, especially in the context of the country’s orientation and development in accordance with the model of the circular economy.
