Abstract
The VLSI implementation of a wave digital filter structure which uses adaptor coefficients taken from a restricted coefficient set is discussed. Performance issues in terms of the expected operating speed and VLSI area requirements are addressed, together with the ramifications of the use of such a highly quantized coefficient set. Comparison of the performance of the restricted wordlength coefficient set is made to those of straight coefficient ranges. >
