Abstract
Objective: To describe the experiences of five nursing students in a mandatory curricular internship in Primary Health Care, in the city of Parnaíba-PI. Brief description of the experience: During the internship, the students carried out health education activities, immunization, reception in a screening room and nursing consultations. In this way, the report emphasizes not only the breadth of activities carried out, but also the importance of clinical practice in nursing training. This practice prepares students in a comprehensive way, enabling them to act effectively in promoting health and preventing diseases in Primary Health Care. Final considerations: The experience experienced by students during the internship expresses the indispensability of nursing internships in preparation of future professionals in the field. This practical experience provides a solid and essential basis for students' transition to the professional sphere, enabling them not only technically, but also to develop interpersonal skills and understand the importance of teamwork and comprehensive health care. The limitations of this study lie in the fact that it was developed based on the perspective of only five academics, which may not reflect the totality of experiences in the Basic Health Units, in addition to the limited workload. With more time dedicated to the internship field, the learning would be significantly more enriching.
