Abstract

Chronic pancreatitis is the end result of a continuous, prolonged, inflammatory, and fibrosing process that affects the pancreas. Pseudocyst is a common sequela of acute pancreatitis or chronic pancreatitis. It is difficult to detect pancreatic disease on abdominal ultrasonography, especially when it is located in the pancreatic tail. A 56-year-old male visited with upper abdominal pain. We could visualize a pseudocyst on abdominal transplenic scan in the right oblique position. We confirmed a diagnosis of chronic pancreatitis and pseudocyst on computed tomography. Abdominal transplenic scan is useful for visualizing pancreatic tail disease.
