Abstract

SUMMARY This study of Norwegian primary and pre-school teacher education shows how a visible pedagogic practice is reproduced in school teacher education and how an invisible pedagogic practice is reproduced in pre-school teacher education. During teacher education the lecturers are models and the students acquire different pedagogic codes. If we want to change a 'conservative' school practice to a 'progressive' practice, the pedagogic practice of teacher education must change.
