Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe incidents of cooking oil hoarding and the shock of cooking oil consumption in all provinces in Indonesia. This research is qualitative research using document study techniques as an analysis method. Sources of information were obtained from various literature and supporting websites, the specific subject of this research refers to the case of the cooking oil cartel which is the cause of the scarcity of cooking oil in Indonesia, resulting in an increase in the price of cooking oil above the highest retail price (HET). The results showed that around 17 provinces in Indonesia experienced a decrease in cooking oil consumption during the 2022 period due to indications of cooking oil hoarding.
