Abstract

This study aims at assessing the case of using modal form guitar music works from different aspects in undergraduate education. As well as being a study describing the case of using modal form guitar works, it also comprises a model that uses literature review and interview methods. In order to acquire data for this study, a 10-question prepared interview form has been applied to 16 serving instructors from universities’ Music Education Departments of Education Faculties and Music Related Departments of Fine Arts Faculties. After gathering this important data reflecting the description characteristic of the study, it has been assessed through analysis. It has beed noticed that the use of modal form guitar music works in education may contribute to the understandings of students that how musical values/systems of different cultures combine together and it also may provide students with a multidimensional technical in frastructure different from the accustomed structures of Western music.
