Abstract
View factor calculation is one of the most important aspects in radiation heat transfer. A general method based on Monte Carlo method was developed to calculate the view factors of arbitrary multi-surfaces in 3D space. One of the characters of this method is that it can detect the barrier effect automatically during the calculation of view factors for multi-surfaces geometry system. From the analysis results of several typical geometry systems, the relative errors of Monte Carlo method are in good agreement with statistic analysis results, which indicates that the Monte Carlo method developed in this work is correct. Finally the view factors of two typical multi-surfaces systems are present, and the total number of rays is N=106 in simulation, so if the view factors are not smaller than 0.009, the relative errors will not exceed the region of ±2.1% (the confidence interval is 0.95).
