Abstract

Book Review| December 01 2005 Victorian Soundscapes Kathleen Blake is professor of English at the University of Washington, author of Play, Games, and Sport: The Literary Works of Lewis Carroll (1974) and Love and the Woman Question in Victorian Literature: The Art of Self-Postponement (1983), and editor of Approaches to Teaching Eliot's “Middlemarch” (1990). Her current book project is tentatively titled Pleasures of Benthamism, Utility, Political Economy, and Victorian Literature.
