Abstract
We calculate the vibrational energy relaxation rate constants for oxygen molecules in oxygen/argon liquid mixtures of various mole fractions at 77 K. Our results are uniformly about a factor of 5 larger than experimental values, which are in the range of 100 s−1. When the mole fraction-dependent results are scaled by their values for neat oxygen, theory and experiment are in excellent agreement.
