Abstract

AbstractRaman and infrared spectra of oriented single crystals of α iodic acid allowed to determine the whole set of fundamental frequencies with their irreducible representations. Important static and correlation field effects did not allow to apply approximate methods to give a picture of the fundamental vibration modes. A study of the angular dispersion of polar Raman vibrations gave results in good agreement with the theoretical formulae.
