Abstract

In 2009, the fifth meeting of the Chemical Review Committee (CRC) for the Convention on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure for Certain Hazardous Chemicals and Pesticides in International Trade (PIC Convention) was held in Rome. Other important training workshops were also held to help the parties that experienced difficulties in meeting their obligations under the PIC Convention. They provided opportunities for information exchange and understanding of the PIC Convention. The Resource Kit was revised in 2009 by the Secretariat of the PIC Convention. The Resource Kit is a comprehensive source of information on the PIC Convention intended to assist countries in the ratification process and in the implementation of the convention. The information in the kit has been organized in five categories: general information, guidance information, documents for implementation, training materials, and crosscutting information (Resource Kit publications available at <http://www.pic.int/home.php?type=s&id=36&sid=36>).
