Abstract
Kenntnisse der historischen Stätten biblischer Texte sind seit dem Aufkommen der historisch-kritischen Exegese für alle Lehrenden in den Bibelwissenschaften wesentlich. Diese Einsicht führte zum Ende des 19. Jh.s n. Chr. zu Überlegungen, Lehrende durch die Lehrkurse des DEI zu qualifizieren. Die Geschichte dieser Kurse, ihre didaktische Konzeption und Fortentwicklung bis in die Gegenwart werden im Folgenden dargestellt und reflektiert.
