Abstract

Here we are reporting a retrospective analysis of clinical, echocardiographic and angiocardiographic data of 28 patients with the diagnosis of post-myocardial infarction ventricular septal rupture (VSR). There were 5 females and the mean age was 55.14+/−7.2 years (range 43–72 years). Three of these patients had inferior wall myocardial infarction (IWMI) and the rest had anterior wall MI (AWMI). Only 5 patients received thrombolytic therapy. All patients developed VSR on 2nd–5th day (mean 2.5+/−0.6 days), after the MI.
