Abstract

Abstract This test was initiated on Sept 18 near Cottonwood, AL. Ten treatments were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Each of the 40 plots was 4 rows x 37 ft (0.01 acres). Treatments were applied with a CO2 sprayer, 3 nozzles per row, delivering 15 gal of mixed spray per acre. Post-treatment counts were made by shaking the peanut vines vigorously in a section of row 3 ft long, then rolling the vines back from the middle to the row, first on one side of the row then on the other, and counting and recording the number of live VBC larvae on the ground. This was done twice per plot three days after treatment.
