Abstract
This article examines the challenges posed by variations in construction projects, which are a major source of disputes in the industry. Variations, often initiated by clients, arise due to incomplete designs, advancements in technology, new materials, or evolving client and end-user requirements. The construction process itself, being unique and lacking prototypes, adds to the complexity of managing changes. The text emphasizes the importance of adhering to contractual procedures to properly execute variations, accurately assess their valuation, and determine the need for extensions of time. By addressing these factors, stakeholders can mitigate disputes and ensure smoother project delivery.
