Abstract
Abstract The energy levels of the positron planar channeling radiations are calculated by the variational method with the orthonormal functions, where the Doyle-Turner potential is used as the positron-atom interaction. The calculated peak energies for silicon and germanium show good agreements with measured data, while those for diamond are larger by about 7% than observed energies. The present calculations show that photons emitted from the channeling positrons in the narrow (111) plane of a diamond-type crystal will be observed for positrons with higher energies than 58 MeV, 15 MeV and 5.9 MeV in diamond, silicon and germanium, respectively.
