Abstract

The spin-lattice relaxation time and the iodine value of oil samples hydrogenated to different degrees were measured. Both these parameters are found to change in a similar way in the initial stages of hydrogenation when the seed oil is in liquid form. At the later stages of hydrogenation, while the iodine value still decreases, the spinlattice relaxation time becomes nearly constant.
