Abstract

Spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times of 1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl and its cecrystallized samples have been studied in r.f. region at different temperatures down to liquid air temperature. It is observed that the spin-lattice relaxation time has increased in recrystallized samples but its value with temperature has not changed. The spin-spin relaxation time has been found to decrease with temperature. The data on spin-lattice relaxation time has been interpreted with the help of the three reservoir model ofBlombergen andWang. The values of spin-exchange and exchange-lattice relaxation times at different temperatures have also been evaluated. The variations in relaxation times have been explained in terms of exchange interactions present in the system.
