Abstract

Pitch control technology is one of the core technologies of wind turbines. It has important theoretical value to carry out study on pitch control of wind turbines. This paper studies how wind turbines maintain output power stability and reduce wind turbine speed fluctuations above the rated wind speed. Based on the traditional pitch control strategy, a Proportion Integration Differentiation (PID) control based on Back Propagation Neural Network (BPNN) is proposed. In the matlab/simulink environment, the composite control system combining PID control and BPNN control is modeled and analyzed. The effectiveness of the strategy is proved by the 1.5 MW wind turbine generator. The strategy can not only solve the problem of difficult tuning of traditional PID control strategy parameters, but also optimize the efficiency and obtain excellent control performance.
