Abstract

A dew point method has been used to measure vapour pressures of pure solid benzene and cyclohexane in the region 229 < T < 273 K. Four mixtures of benzene and cyclohexane were also studied in the same temperature range, and, in contrast to the behaviour of the bulk systems, evidence points to the existence of benzene + cyclohexane solid solutions, at least in mixtures containing less than 0.75 mole fraction of benzene in the vapour. Excess Gibbs energies and entropies have been estimated for these mixtures.
