Abstract

Small crystals of boron, boron phosphide and boron arsenide have been produced by chemical vapor transport using halogens as transporting reagent. In all cases the material transported from a higher to a lower temperature. The boron phosphide and boron arsenide produced were cubic while the boron was beta-rhom-bohedral.
